Three of the four eggs hatched. The birds are only about an inch long each and resembe miniature, fuzzy human hearts with incredibly large black eyes that haven't opened yet and are covered with layers of pink skin. They look like baby aliens, and for the life of me, I can't see their cuteness yet. But like human babies, I'm sure they will get cuter with time.
I have heard that birds regurgitate food into their baby birds' mouths to feed them, and I was curious. I sat by their cage for 5 minutes in complete silence yesterday and finally saw Grace Kelly feed them. It's true, and actually really interesting to watch. The only instinct the babies seem to have is to open their mouth and hope their mama will feed them.
